Atsuhiko Misawa ANIMALS IN NIIHAMA
We will be holding an exhibition of works by Atsuhiko Misawa, one of Japan's leading contemporary sculptors.
Using imaginary creatures such as the chimera, a monster from Greek mythology, and the kirin, a sacred beast from Chinese legend, as motifs, he is working on the creation of creatures in which multiple animals coexist. This exhibition will focus on about 35 wood sculptures by Animals, including the latest works such as chimeras, as well as about 100 bronze, ceramic, and painting works, as well as sketches and other materials that show the production process, and a reproduction of the artist's studio, to get to the essence of Misawa's art, which is represented by Animals.
